TOEFL The University of Illinois requires an applicant for admission whose native language is not English to submit results of the TOEFL or IELTS as evidence of English proficiency. The Department of Statistics requires a minimum TOEFL PBT score of 590, a minimum TEOFL CBT score of 243, a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 92 or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 for admission. If an international applicant has attended a U.S. institution of higher education for two years or more, (consecutive fulltime), the TOEFL requirement is waived.
