Your Statement of Purpose should be a one or two page document in which you outline your reasons for pursuing the Ed.S./Ed.D. program at UNC-Chapel Hill. Please present a clear and compelling case for admission which is cogent and congruent with the School of Education’s Conceptual Framework (http://soe.unc.edu/about/framework.php) and Educational Leadership’s goals of providing social justice, equity and academic excellence. And your required statement of purpose should be an essay of at least one page explaining your interest in graduate study in Mathematics and your future professional goals.

An average grade of B (cumulative GPA 3.0) or better
CV
All graduate programs require a resume or CV to be uploaded within your application. Your resume/CV should provide information about your work and volunteer experiences, research, awards, recognitions and activities pertinent to your proposed program of study.
Fee
A non-refundable $85 application fee is required for each program to which you apply.
RL
Applicants must submit three letters of recommendation. One from your immediate supervisor, one from a person who can speak to your academic work, and one who knows your professional work and background. Ask your references to speak to your leadership experience and potential and ask them to provide specific examples in their letters, especially of experiences or activities in which they have observed your leadership.
Transcript
Transcripts from all post secondary education (including community colleges, summer sessions, extensions programs, study abroad and four year universities) are required to be uploaded in the applciation. Each applicant should obtain an unoffical copy of their transcripts and either upload the document directly if it is in an accepted format or scan it into a file that can be uploaded. It is the responsibility of the applicant to view each upload and make sure it is clear and legible. If a degree was earned at any post secondary institution, the transcript upload must show proof of degree. Admitted applicants will be required to submit official transcripts from all institutions to The Graduate School as well as the School of Education.
