TOEFL
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) scores (international students only).TOEFL (IBT) minimum is 84. If you are required to take the TOEFL and your score is below 84, you cannot be admitted as a graduate student at the University of Michigan.
GRE
GRE scores are one of several parameters that are considered in the application evaluation process. Other parameters include the student's academic record (grades), letters of recommendation, motivation towards a graduate degree, and prior work or research experience. Admission decisions are made by considering the total package described by these parameters. GRE-Q and GRE-A (writing) scores are more relevant than GRE-V in the admissions process. Generally speaking, near perfect GRE-Q scores (700 out of 800 at the very least) are expected for admission to the graduate program. In addition, above average GRE-A scores are expected (3.0 out of 6.0 at the very least) from each admitted applicant.
