TOEFL
All international applicants whose native language is not English and whose undergraduate education was conducted in a language other than English must take the TOEFL. Those with the status "permanent resident" do not need to take the TOEFL. Test scores can be self-reported on the application website. If offered admission, then the official scores must be sent in to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Minimum TOEFL requirements for admission are: IBT 80, paper-based 550; IELTS 7.

GRE
Applicants who are applying for admission to MAE should take the GRE exam as early as possible. However, results of the exam can reported in the on line tool AFTER the application deadline. You CAN submit your application without test scores. Just know that your application cannot be reviewed without them. If you have unofficial scores, please report them in the application. Once admission is offered, we will require the official document. If you have the official results, please upload them into the application. You do NOT need to send them to us until you are offered admission. GRE scores are good for five (5) years. Minimum Requirement: PhD and MS applicants that are offered admission typically show a quantitative GRE score in the 85 - 90% percentile and above. We do not have a minimum requirement.

The University requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above (or equivalent).
Most of our admitted students have a GPA in the range of 3.5 – 4.0. We
rarely admit applicants with a GPA below 3.2.

The MS and PhD program has a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. However, the typical GPA for admission is 3.50 or higher.
Transcript
We will accept unofficial transcripts at the time that you apply. The transcript MUST have your name on it and the name of the institution--in English. If you are offered admission, you will be required to provide an official transcript at that time.
