TOEFL Request an official report of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) to be sent from the testing agency to The University of Texas at Austin at Graduate and International Admissions Center. TOEFL scores over two years old will not be accepted. We prefer students have over 100 on the TOEFL for all RTF Graduate Programs, if admitted with less than that, an English speaking and writing test is required and possible English courses in addition to the required courses. GRE GRE Scores are required. Take the test as soon as possible and have scores sent to The University of Texas at Austin. They are sent electronically from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Note that it can take 3 to 6 weeks after you take the test for the scores to reach us. While most of our applicants score a combined verbal and quantitative of between 1000 and 1350, many score much higher and some score lower. Your GRE score is just one of many factors and if you score in the high percentile, we certainly notice. However, if your GRE is low but the rest of your application is excellent, a low GRE will not make you ineligible for admission.
