TOEFL Current University at Albany minimum TOEFL scores for general admission: Internet Based Test 79-80;Computer Based Test 213;Paper Based Test 550. Current University at Albany minimum TOEFL scores for admission with funding (as instructional support): Internet Based Test 100; Computer Based Test 250;Paper Based Test 600; The University recommends a minimum TOEFL score for most UAlbany programs of 213 (computer based), 550 (paper based), or 79 (Internet based). IELTS Not all programs accept the IELTS so please check with the academic department. The minimum required score for general admission is an overall band score of 6.5. The minimum required for admission with funding (as instructional support) is an overall band score of 7.  Please note: we will only accept official valid scores of exams sent by the test taking institution.  Exams taken beyond 2 years are considered expired and are unacceptable. The recommended minimum IELTS bandscore is 6.5 for most graduate programs. GRE GRE scores vary from department to department and year to year with the competitiveness of each class. Therefore, the Office of Graduate Education does not issue average or minimum scores. If you must have this information you may try the departmental web sites or contacting the department directly for this year's scores.For full consideration, your application must be completed (application, fee, and all credentials) by the deadline. While we may forward your application to the department for review if it is late, we cannot guarantee that it will be reviewed or that it will not be penalized. If you expect to submit any part of your application late, please contact the department you are applying to first.
